We are living in a challenging time with the COVID-19 pandemic affecting families and communities across Canada and the world. For many this is a difficult and stressful period, Tomorrow’s Topkids has been able to provide care for families that are in need. We will continue to work to provide safe and quality child care to our communities for as long as we are able.
As partners in keeping our space safe for your children, parents/guardians will do drop off and pick up outside the door. Staff will escort children between parent/guardian and the inside space. In the programs, children and staff will continue increased handwashing. Surfaces will be sanitized at the start of each day and throughout each day. We will practice physical distancing in our programs, increase ventilation by keeping windows and doors open, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.

Tomorrow’s Topkids’ Enhanced Policies and Procedures
for the 2021-2022 School Year
Updated: March 18, 2022
As Licensed Child Care Providers working within the BC School Districts, TTK Staff will follow the Public Health Guidance for Childcare Settings while staying informed as to the Guidance for K-12 School Settings.
“The physical space requirements for licensed child care settings set out in the Child Care Licensing Regulation mean that child care centres have sufficient space to support physical distancing (i.e., maintaining a distance of 2 metres between each other) between staff without reducing the number of children in care at any one time.”
For our participants this will look like:
- Washing hands when we arrive to TTK, before eating, when coming in from outside, and between activities.
- Using hand sanitizer when hand washing isn’t available
- Playing outside as much as possible (weather permitting)
- Playing games and activities with our friends from a safe distance
- Fewer people at one table at a time
- Coughing or sneezing into our elbows, and washing hands after we touch our face
- Staying home when we are sick
- Trying not to hug or touch our friends, keeping our hands to ourselves
- Going on lots of community walks instead of field trips in TTK vehicles
- Wearing a mask as a personal or family choice, and following school mask guidelines
- Supporting others’ mask choices and understanding that not everyone can wear a mask.
For our parents/guardians this will look like:
- Waiting outside at pick up and drop off to be greeted by a TTK staff member
- Completing a health check daily as you would for school
- Monitoring your child(ren) for symptoms, and keeping them at home if they are sick
- Keeping your child(ren) home for 14 days after any travel outside of Canada and continuing to follow guidance for international travel
- Waiting for another parent/guardian to complete their drop off/pick up before approaching the centre and staff
- Making sure your child has appropriate clothing for the weather as we will be spending an increased amount of time outdoors
For our staff this will look like:
- Disinfecting high-touch surfaces throughout the centre several times per day
- Monitoring children as they wash their hands
- Greeting parents at the door to escort their child in or out of the centre
- Completing their own health check forms daily and reviewing coworkers’ forms
- Monitoring children for symptoms and calling parents/guardians if any arise
- Limiting the number of children at each activity
- Offering activities that promote distancing
- Wearing a mask as a personal choice
- Supporting our participants in their personal mask choices
- Reminding participants to give space and avoiding crowded areas or activities
- Following the guidelines for each individual school and supporting the school staff teams
- Maintaining their distance from one another and children when possible
