Introducing our new Youth Programs Manager!

Hello TTK Families,

I hope this message finds you well! My name is Ashley Lau, and I am excited to introduce myself as the new Youth Programs Manager at Tomorrow’s Topkids Child Care Society. I have had the pleasure of being part of Tomorrow’s Topkids for the past three years, where my journey started as an Activity Leader at McKinney. I thoroughly enjoyed running our Leaders program in centre and learning more ways to be involved, such as doing weekly grocery shopping for our programs. In the summer of 2023, I obtained my class 4 license, which allowed me to drive our bright green busses for field trips and in-centre events. Following that summer, I moved on to becoming Head Supervisor at our Spul’u’kwuks Clubhouse, where for the past year, I have helped to maintain the centre and ran our Junior Staff and Leaders programs. Though you may have seen me around over the past few years, I am thrilled to connect with more of you in this new role.

I have always loved finding ways to be more involved and help where I can. I found my passion when I was in high school, being in Youth Leadership Teams and taking courses such as Peer Helping Leadership, as well as Social Justice. Moving on to post-secondary, I studied Social Service Work and obtained a diploma with CDI College. During my studies, I knew that I wanted to help and support my community through outreach programs. I have gained valuable skills over the past three years I’ve spent at Tomorrow’s Topkids. I want to continue to grow with the organization, which is why when the Youth Programs Manager role opened, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity for me to continue my journey with Tomorrow’s Topkids.

In my new role, I will be responsible for our in-centre Leaders and Junior Staff programs, as well as overseeing our Student Staff and Volunteers at Topkids. I am passionate about empowering our youth and creating exciting, enriching programs that inspire and engage our community. I am eager to continue building meaningful connections with our families and creating a supportive environment where all young people can thrive. I look forward to collaborating with everyone to make our programs even better.

Thank you for welcoming me into this position. I can’t wait to get started and work together to achieve great things. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or suggestions – I’m here to listen and learn.

Warm regards,

Ashley Lau
