Clothes Pin Tag is a popular game that is played in the gym at a few of our centres. All you need is a bunch of clothes pins and an open space with boundaries to start the game.
Each participant will start with three clothes pins which they must clip onto the middle of the back of their shirt. The clothes pins cannot go on the side of the shirt, front or bottom, they must be at the back of their shirt. Once everyone has three clothes pins, players must spread out in the gym and wait for the GO signal.
Once the game begins, the object of the game is to one-by-one run behind someone and take a clothes pin off of someone else back. Once you do so you can kneel down for 5 seconds to put the new clothes pin you took onto your own back. During those 5 seconds you are kneeling you cannot have clothes pins stolen from you. Stand back up and find someone else to get a clothes pin from. You don’t want to get caught yourself so make sure you turn around often so no one takes your clothes pins! If you lose all your clothes pins, you’re out and must sit on the bench until the next game.
The last player remaining with clothes pins on their back wins.
As more and more players get out, remember to shorten the play area. If half of your participants are out, shorten the play area to half of the gym instead of the full gym. If you have 4-8 players remaining, shorten it even more. If you are short on time, set a time limit for the remaining participants and indicate that whomever has the most clothes pins in ___ minutes will win.
