Dear Quest Parents,
I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for allowing your children to be part of the Quest Adventures program this summer. It has truly been a pleasure to have them with us, and we couldn’t be more delighted with their participation.
Throughout the summer, we witnessed remarkable enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication in every aspect of the program. From the passion to constantly learn and test their knowledge, to challenging themselves to try activities out of their comfort zone. Quest kids’ excitement was truly infectious and added to the overall positive atmosphere of our program.
There were many highlights for us this summer. From adventuring across the Lower Mainland, to the fabulous group days on Wednesday’s, we have learned, built relationships, snacked, and experienced growth not just from your children but our staff as well.
This year the Quest program highlighted Indigenous learning everywhere we travelled, whether through land acknowledgements, or the histories of the local Nations, it was the Quest staff’s mission to incorporate this valuable knowledge. I was so happy to see the enthusiasm from your children about Indigenous education, many of whom reminding staff about land acknowledgements or asking for more stories.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to coordinate the Quest Summer program this year, I have gained so much from adventuring with your fantastic children. One of my favourite memories was having the opportunity to take them to 1001 Steps in White Rock, a walk that takes 1001 steps to reach a phenomenal rocky beach bustling with sea-life. Growing up in White Rock, it was wonderful to take Quester’s to a local’s spot and teach them the value of conserving our environment.
This summer of adventures is one I will never forget, and I hope your children had as much fun participating in the program as we did running it.
We hope to see your children again next summer! To those heading to high school this year, congratulations on moving on to a new and exciting chapter of your life. Thank you!
